CEO ANNOUNCEMENT: NEW SUSTAINABLE SEG GRAPHIC STANDARD
One of the many factors in my decision to join the team at Moss as CEO last November was their environmental heritage and commitment to sustainability. Our founder, Bill Moss, was an avid outdoorsman and invented the original pop-tent to help motivate families to spend more time outdoors and in our national parks. Bill’s pop-tent evolved into sophisticated and creative tension fabric structures which have further evolved into modular, multi-use systems. These structures are built to be reused year after year in tradeshows, retail environments, and temporary installations thereby eliminating waste.
I’m a committed environmentalist. I believe the world must cut our emissions and reduce waste. I was trained as a Climate Reality leader through the Climate Reality Leadership Corps. But I’m also a realist and know that our clients are all operating under their own challenges and constraints and that they come to us as a partner, to help them navigate those constraints.
We’re doing our part to ensure our industries become more sustainable, often in ways that may not be immediately visible to our customers. Specifically, our new 180,000 ft2 US headquarters in Franklin Park, Illinois was planned with sustainability in mind. We’ve made the following investments to operate sustainably:
• We use 100% renewable energy electricity
• All our lighting is motion-sensor, LED lighting
• We implemented water-conservation features throughout
• All waste is separated, and we pay to have each recyclable component processed
• Waste-generated gas is converted to energy by the EPA Landfill Methane Outreach Program.
I’m excited to also announce that from today, we will only buy PVC-Free gasket for use in our SEG graphics. We’re investing in this change with no additional cost to customers – we’re not asking customers to choose between a sustainable and a non-sustainable option. It’s our new standard as of today, because it’s the right decision for tomorrow.
As a purpose driven organization, we always look for new ways to make a positive impact on our industry and on the world. There will be many more such changes to come– this is who we are. Come see how our team can be your sustainability partner.
If you can imagine it, we can help you create it.
