What are Dimensional Letters?
Dimensional letters refers to individual characters and symbols that are constructed to have depth and stand out from a flat surface. These letters are typically used for signage, branding, and decorative purposes. Dimensional letters are created by cutting or forming materials such as wood, plastic, metal and foam into the desired shape and thickness. They can be installed to walls, buildings, signs, or other surfaces to create a visually appealing representation of text or graphics. Dimensional letters are popular for their ability to enhance visibility, brand recognition, and aesthetics in various settings, including businesses, retail spaces, trade shows, and environmental branding.
How are Dimensional Letters Installed?
Dimensional letters and logos are typically installed by sign installation professionals. Here’s an overview of our installation process:
1. Site Assessment: Before fabrication, a site assessment is often conducted to determine the best possible execution for the dimensional letters. Factors such as visibility, accessibility, existing surface material/condition, and the presence of any obstructions are considered during this phase.
2. Preparation: On arrival for install, our installation team will prepare the surface where the letters will be mounted. This may involve light surface cleaning, as well as leveling and hanging a template that has been custom produced with the approved spacing and alignment of your dimensional elements, ensuring a professional product placement that matches your exact layout within the space.
3. Mounting & Placement: Various mounting methods can be used depending on the type of dimensional elements and the surface they are being installed on. Common methods include stud mounting, adhesive mounting, and cleat mounting using surface-mounted metal channels. The dimensional elements will be carefully positioned according to the design and layout provided, using the mounting template developed by our Tech Design team.
4. Quality Check: The installation team will use levels and other tools to ensure the letters are aligned correctly. This step is crucial for a professional and polished appearance. Once the letters are in the desired position and aligned, they are secured to the surface, allowing adhesives to cure. Following removal of the templates and cleanup of the site, a final inspection is often conducted alongside the client to ensure that the installation meets the client’s specifications and quality standards.
It’s important to note that the installation of dimensional letters can vary depending on the specific materials used, the location of installation, and local building codes and regulations.
