SUMMARY

The Accounting Manager is a self-starter, can work independently, prioritize multiple deliverables, initiate solutions, and be a strong team player in helping achieve the goals of the Finance function. This is a growth opportunity role with the ability to interact with senior level management across finance, sales, operations, and the rest of the business. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for general ledger accounting, the month end close process, financial reporting, variance analysis, sales tax reporting, annual audits, and all other task and initiatives as assigned. The position will report directly to the CFO and will be expected to grow into a Controller role within 2-3 years as the company expands.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Own the month end close process which includes, but is not limited to:

• Posting & documentation of journal entries on a timely basis

• Ensuring completeness and accuracy of monthly account reconciliations

• Assisting in supplemental reporting required by CFO

• Reconcile intercompany balances with International business units

• Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules

• Review work of accounting staff for completeness and accuracy

• Distribute all budget to actual reports to management

• Responsible for monthly sales tax reporting and acting as the company’s sales tax compliance resource

• Improve and maintain system for all state filings including annual reports and licenses

• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures

• Assist the accounting staff in customer accounts receivable collections

• Assist the CFO with quarterly forecasting and annual budget process

• Main contact for external auditors and providing supporting data for the annual audit

• Implement accounting initiatives led by CFO

• Complete other ad-hoc tasks when necessary

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Accounting, CPA preferred but not required

• 4+ years of comparable work experience

• Familiarity with US GAAP

• Proficiency in MS Office products – intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel

• Experience navigating a large ERP environment

• Ability to work cross functionally and act as a liaison with all other departments

• Ability to adapt and strive in fast-paced environment

• Ability to train and manage staff

• Ability to work with little to no supervision

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
