Working With Us

Art Preparation

To help you prepare artwork for your Moss project, we have created the following Art Requirements. Adhering to these guidelines ensures that your project will progress smoothly. You may also download more detailed Art Requirements.

Digital Imaging and Ink Jet Graphics

  • Please convert all fonts to outline and/or rasterize any type layers in Photoshop files (layer/rasterize/type).
  • We do not accept fonts. (See important note below.)
  • Please do not embed linked files.
  • Maintain and preserve all links and provide high resolution TIFF or EPS files along with your layout.
  • Please do not flatten transparency and other effects in your Illustrator or other software files - this will rasterize your vector art and make it unscalable.
  • Please convert duotones to CMYK or RGB mode.

Preferred art file formats: Adobe Illustrator CS AI, EPS files Adobe Photoshop CS PSD, TIFF, EPS files

Vinyl, Moss Adhesive, Appliqué, Printed Vinyl and Silk Screen

Art needs to be in a clean, simple vector format.

  • All fonts must be converted to outlines.
  • Printed vinyl and silkscreen processes only: allow for simple, vector-based gradients. See examples of acceptable formats.

Preferred art file formats: Adobe Illustrator CS AI, EPS files

Alternate art file formats: Macromedia FreeHand FH, EPS files Adobe InDesign INDD, INX files QuarkXpress QXD files If you are able to use Illustrator or Photoshop to create your art files, please do so. Due to incompatibility issues we can no longer accept Corel Draw files.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Quark, and in some instances InDesign, will not retain photo cropping information when you export your file as an EPS to open in Illustrator. When file links are updated your photos may not place as expected. If you do not replace your linked files or crop them in Photoshop to the size required in your document, you may be subject to surcharges. PLEASE CONVERT YOUR FONTS TO OUTLINES IN QUARK AND INDESIGN. In InDesign, go to type/create outlines. In Quark, select type with your cursor tool, go to style/text to box. This will create a duplicate of your type. Fill/stroke the converted type to your liking. TIP: Turn off edit shape (shift key F4 or item/edit/shape) to move converted type as a group.

If you cannot provide your artwork in any of these file formats, please contact your account executive.

You may submit your art files a number of ways:

Please complete and include our File Submission Form when submitting artwork.
  1. Ship your art files on CD or DVD to your Project Service Manager (PSM). This is the preferred method for transferring large files (over 100 MB) or a large number of files.
  2. Send your art files through email to your Project Service Manager. When sending your art files electronically, please stuff (or zip) your files to prevent them from becoming corrupt. This method is only recommended for files under 10-15 MB in size.
  3. Moss recommends using the FTP server for files smaller than 2 GB. Download instructions here. Files over 2 GB should be burned to DVD and shipped to your Project Service Manager.
  4. Go to our upload artwork page on our website: This method is recommended for files under 200 MB in size.

Color Matching

It is important that you provide color-matching information for your art files. Either send a color copy or proof, or convey referenced Pantone® colors to your account executive. You may also include referenced Pantone colors in your art files.

Colors for ink jet graphics that will be backlit are adjusted accordingly for structures sold with Moss lighting packages. Colors will appear darker when not lit.
