Super Bowl (February 6, Jacksonville, FL)
Every year at the Super Bowl, the winning team is awarded the prestigious Lombardi Trophy. A stunning piece of sculpture, the Lombardi trophy is handcrafted by Tiffany & Company and weighs seven pounds and stands 22 inches tall.
This year Moss fabricated a larger than life Lombardi trophy for the 2005 Super Bowl. Weighing in at 1,500 pounds and standing 30 feet tall, this larger than life Lombardi trophy is a giant!
Walking through the trophy as they entered the stadium, fans were treated to nostalgic images of famous football moments, commemorating the history of football.
The interior walls of the fabric and frame trophy were ink jet digitally printed on polyester fabric. The outside walls depict a subtle impression of the NFL logo that glowed with different lighting effects.
Brian Murphy of Subject Matter Design in Dallas, Texas and Cameron Smith of Infinite Scale Design Group in Salt Lake City, Utah provided the original design intent and worked with Moss to realize the concept.
