Big crowd, lively debate at the World Congress of Sports

Big crowd, lively debate at the World Congress of Sports
Record-setting attendance, lively discussions and unique exchanges of ideas marked Moss Sports’ first conference event this year - the 13th Annual 2014 IMG World Congress of Sports held at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, CA.

Presentations and panel discussions created interesting debate on the latest issues facing sports business today and those set to impact the future: League trends, consumer & fan technology use, the challenges of reaching and keeping Millennial fans engaged, new ideas and opportunities in marketing, the FIFA World Cup and ’16 Rio Summer Olympic Games, broadcast rights fees, improving the in-venue experience, new ownership, and worldwide expansion opportunities.

These were just a few! Sports Business Journal Executive Editor Abraham Madkour has a great look at some highlights, including some eyebrow-raisers.

The two-day event featured fantastic keynote presentations, interviews and networking sessions with top business and agency leaders in the sports industry. You can see the list of those recognized in the annual awards for “Champions: Pioneers and Innovators in Sports Business.”

Entertainment and networking included the evening reception hosted by Cartier and a Day 2 pro volleyball clinic hosted by the Asics World Series of Beach Volleyball featuring several pro players.

Directly following the ’14 World Congress of Sports, the annual Forty under 40 black tie awards gala recognized the impressive young executives who are shaping the future of the industry. Congrats to those on the 15th annual Forty Under 40 List – check out some of their thoughts on industry challenges.

The World Congress was a fantastic setting for Moss Sports to present our new brand to the leaders in sports business. We made connections at our booth and throughout the event that will reach beyond the Sports market and into our Event and Retail solutions. Laying the groundwork for significant growth, we are already experiencing increased opportunities.

Next, Moss Sports is at the 2014 Football Bowl Association Annual Meetings, April 22-24 at the Palazzo, Las Vegas where we are an event sponsor. Our FBA trade show booth number is #324-326.
